Recycled paper flowers
I'm back and blogging again! As you may already noticed my website has changed a little bit. It's all due to my crush for blogging. I decided to concentrate more on it and keep only a tiny shop with few jewelry items (one of a kind mostly). I hope you'll like it and have fun exploring! :)
Today I'm sharing a way how to recycle old books to pretty paper flowers! You're gonna need a book, watercolors, a stapler and scissors. First of all take 4 pages from a book and paint one side red of each page. When the pages are dry put them together and cut in half. Put one half over the other and then cut out a circle. Staple the center of the circle and cut the sides a little bit. Take the first layer and fold it up. Repeat the step to all the layers. When you're done, simply expand all the layers and you will get a pretty flower. Add a few leafs and that's it. You can decorate anything with these cute little paper flowers. Enjoy!
A tip: paint the upper layers with lighter color and the bottom layers with the brightest you have. You'll get a more beautiful and realistic look.

Those are gorgeous! I love them.
Thanks, Cate! :)
Hmmm, that’s interesting the way you made them and they turned out so pretty. I’ll have to try it and see if mine will look so pretty. I hope so!
Barbara, they’re super easy to make. I’m pretty sure they’ll turn out gorgeous! :)
Great idea. They would even look darling without the paint. I’m your newest subscriber. Nice to get to know you.
Hello, Jan, it’s very nice to meet you!
I just tried this with puffy paint (it’s all I had on hand) and it worked really well! I did pink and purple and I used one of my romance novels that I got from the library book sale ($1 for a whole paper bag full of em!) so i’m always looking for ways to use them up. These would be great to use as a decoration on a present.
michell, I’m really happy that they turned our well. Wow, that’s a real book sale! Wish I could find one over here. I love recycling books! :)

Love it! I’m hosting a lady bug baby shower and thinking on how I can modify this to make lady bugs for the table (flowers too, of course). Thanks.

How can I put a stalk on the flowers so they can go in a vase.
Hi, Jan, i really loved the idea of putting on a stalk on the Ellinée blog. Tell me what you think. :)
Thanks for showing flowers with stems. Great, now they look like flowers and can be made and put in a vase.
